A quarter-turn valve for fast, reliable isolation. The cylindrical or tapered plug gives clean shut-off and quick operation where a line is opened and closed often.

A full-bore isolation valve. Fully open, the gate clears the bore for minimal pressure drop, which makes it the standard choice for on/off duty rather than throttling.

API 623 · BS 1873
A throttling valve. The disc-against-seat action gives fine, repeatable flow regulation and a tight shut-off, for service where the line is modulated rather than simply isolated.

A non-return valve. The hinged disc swings open under forward flow and seats on reversal, protecting pumps and upstream equipment from backflow without operator action.
